Dwarf Hamster Supplies

For those who are breeding dwarf hamsters and are current pet owners, they need a reliable supply of food and other basic necessities for their pets.  There are pet stores out there that can supply every need for all types of dwarf hamsters and they also are well-versed on all information on dwarf hamsters.  Having access to these supplies will ensure a healthy and comfortable living for the pets.

People breeding dwarf hamsters will primarily need a cage and usually a good pet store must be able to offer all kinds of cages for any types of dwarf hamsters.  These cages could either be wire mesh, aquarium tank or plastic but the important thing is that the animals must have room to run around.  The cage must be spacious enough especially if you bought a pair or a baby hamster that may be small at first but will soon grow bigger as it matures.  Those breeding dwarf hamsters are well aware of how fast hamsters grow in numbers.  This is one of the most important information on dwarf hamsters every owner must know.  After the cage, substrates will be needed.  Place a minimum of at least 3 to 5 centimeters high of substrates to entire floor but a 13 to 15 centimeter high will enable your pet climb and dig in the substrates.  Another little information on dwarf hamsters that many people don’t know is whether the hamsters can be potty trained.  If you observed that all the droppings can only be found in one area of the cage, chances are they ready to be potty trained.  Buy a hamster potty and placed it in the same area where the droppings are located and fill it with hay.

Chew toys are also a vital accessory for most types of dwarf hamsters because these toys can save your pet’s teeth.  A hamster’s teeth continually grow and they need to constantly gnaw at something or their teeth will grow so large enough to prevent them from closing their mouth.  If this happens they will starve to death.

Your pet will also need water so keep a constant fresh supply ready for them everyday.  It is much preferable to place the water inside a water bottle hanging on the side of the cage.  This method keeps the cage clean and lessens the likelihood of substrates mixing with water.

It is also important to provide the hamsters with materials needed for the construction of a nest.  They are shy creatures and will need some rooms for privacy.  Having access to supplies certainly makes caring for them much easier.
